Elizabeth Short, the Black Dahlia

Elizabeth Short, a.k.a. The Black Dahlia (1924-1947) is one of the most enigmatic and brutal crime stories in this country's history. It is a cold case, an unsolved crime to this day, and many odd factors emerge from a closer study.

In the days leading up to her death Beth, as she liked to be called, was staying at the Aster Motel in Los Feliz. The Aster was, interestingly, located on Flower Street.

The dahlia is a flower that belongs to the family "asteraceae" - and the Dahlia was staying at the Aster Motel - on Flower Street, of all places? 

Worst of all, Beth had a rose tattoo on her thigh, which was horribly cut off during her murder and stuffed into her genitals - another seemingly deliberate flower reference. Dahlia, Rose, Aster, Flower.

In her astrology death chart she is ruled by Jupiter, which was in Scorpio in the eighth house of murder. Jupiter rules dahlias and Scorpio rules black, ergo, Black Dahlia.
